Uh oh. Self-portrait. Every photographer’s worse nightmare.
If you can believe it, this was my first time using the self-timer on my camera. Usually there’s no reason. I wanted to take a self-portrait without the use of the mirror, so I used the self-timer function then got myself into position. I can assure you that I was probably the only idiot doing this creative assignment who was running back and forth from the back of the camera to the front. Add remote shutter release to the wish list!
It took me a few tries before I nailed focus. You see, it’s hard to focus on something that’s not there. I used substitute objects, but it’s just not the same. Anyway, dare I say this was a fun theme? Here are my results. It’s actually the same image, with the second being a tight crop.
