I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing this not-so-little newborn baby boy yesterday morning, at just 14 hours old. Boy, he sure did test his mom and dad’s patience, arriving nearly 2 weeks past his due date. He was born on Saturday evening, after an induction that started on Wednesday evening!!! I’m so happy that they were able to have a smooth birth, even though it took a few days to get active labor started.
Katie & Dan will call this little guy Dap, which are his initials for family names. I love how he’s got a traditional name but then the initials form a new, modern name of his very own. Very cool.
It’s so magical to be able to document the formation of a new family at such a momentous time. It’s like welcoming them into this new world of parenthood, as they just promoted into the most important, rewarding, hard, exhausting, and most JOYFUL job they’ll ever work in their entire lives. Katie & Dan look like naturals, and I can already tell that they adore him. Thank you so much for choosing me to document such a special time. I wish for you joy and love on the journey ahead. But for now, just a little bit of sleep.
